Pierre Lapointe is President and Head of Private Wealth Management at Jarislowsky, Fraser Limited, and sits on the firm’s Board of Directors. Mr. Lapointe spent most of his career at Jarislowsky Fraser, after joining the firm in 1985. He became a Partner in the early years, and has held various senior positions, followed by more than 15 years as Executive Vice-President in the late 1990's. Having spent the last few decades providing client service for institutional and important private family portfolios, he now also directly oversees the firm's Private Wealth Management division.
Mr. Lapointe is passionate about the arts, and his current and past philanthropic activities reflect this. Through his personal family foundation, he has recently become increasingly committed to rewarding innovation not just in the arts but also in education. He also sits on several boards, most notably, the Board of Trustees of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, The National Ballet School Foundation and the Jean Béliveau Foundation.
Mr. Lapointe earned an M.A. from the University of Aberdeen (Scotland) and an MBA from the University of Western Ontario (Ivey School of Business). He holds the ICD.D designation (Institute of Corporate Directors).
