Pierre Lapointe is a Director and President of Jarislowsky, Fraser Limited. He is also Chairman of the Executive Committee, which sets direction for the firm’s business planning and strategy as well as overseeing the day-to-day operations. Having spent the last few decades providing client service for institutional and important private family portfolios, he now also oversees the firm's Private Wealth Management division.
Mr. Lapointe spent most of his career at Jarislowsky Fraser, after joining the firm in 1985. He became a Partner in the early years, and has held various senior positions from Director to Vice-President, followed by more than 15 years as Executive Vice-President in the late 1990's.
Pierre is passionate about the arts, and his current and past philanthropic activities reflect this. Through his personal family foundation, he has recently become increasingly committed to rewarding innovation not just in the arts but also in education. He also sits on several boards, most notably, the Board of Trustees of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, The National Ballet School Foundation, the Fondation de l’Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont and the Jean Béliveau Foundation.
