MICHEL BRUTTI, CFA

Michel Brutti joined the research team in November 1994 and managed the firm's International Equity portfolios for 21 years. Currently, Michel is dedicated to research for international equities and to help promote several of the firm’s other initiatives, including governance and PRI, along with additional client coverage. Michel has been a Partner since 1998 and a member of the Investment Strategy Committee since 1999. He is also a member of the firm's Sustainable Investment Committee.

Before joining Jarislowsky Fraser, Michel worked for Global Strategy Financial, a pioneering Canadian company affiliated with N.M. Rothschild, dedicated to international equity and bond funds. Prior to entering the industry, Michel, a native of France, worked as a computer engineer for Nortel Networks and Elf Aquitaine (now Total).

Michel is a past Board member and treasurer of the Montreal CFA Association and a former Committee Member of the Canadian Advocacy Council. Michel is also a Mentor for the Kenneth Woods Portfolio Management Program at Concordia University since 2007, and is a Mentor for the Loran Scholars Foundation. He is currently a member of the Board of Chempap, a company dedicated to helping organizations deal with their social responsibilities and the financial interests of their stakeholders. Michel is also a board member and on the Strategy Committee of the Fonds d’action québecois pour le développement durable (FAQDD). Michel practises Aikido, a Japanese martial art, and is an Aikido assistant instructor at McGill University.
